2024 Emma Loves Dogs Clinic
C.A.R.E. partnered with Emma Loves Dogs Foundation to help sponsor a spay and neuter clinic on the Ramah Navajo reservation on August 15 – 17th, 2024. In the Pine Hill, NM fire station, 90 pets were fixed, vaccinated, and treated with flea-tick meds and dewormer (if needed). Bro and Tracy Animal Welfare did the hard work of organizing this clinic.
Emma Loves Dogs was created by Geoff and Tammy Mertens to carry on the legacy of their daughter, Emma. Sadly, Emma was 8 years old when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in early 2019 and passed away later that year. Emma is the beautiful blonde girl pictured below who was passionate about helping animals.
Thank you to Emma Loves Dogs and all the other funding partners for their warm collaboration on this project. In our hearts, we know that Emma would smile seeing the lives of these wonderful Navajo Nation pets enriched with the services that were provided to this struggling community. This is the 5th consecutive year that C.A.R.E. used Emma Loves Dogs funding to help this tribal area.
