TURTLE MOUNTAIN ANIMAL RESCUE CLINIC

Friday, August 25 – Sunday August 27, 2023

Final Count of pets fixed: 80 dogs and 129 cats for a total of 209 pets.

This will save THOUSANDS of companion animals from filling our shelters or living /suffering on the streets in the years ahead. Thank you to all involved in this very successful event! This clinic was free to the public and held in the Fitness Center in Belcourt, North Dakota. Belcourt is the only town on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. C.A.R.E. helped sponsor this clinic along with Banfield Foundation and other funders.

The population of the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation consists of Plains Ojibwe (also known in the US as Chippewa) and Métis peoples. The reservation was established in 1882. In French, the word métis is an adjective referring to someone of mixed ancestry, usually Indigenous and European ancestry.
